Symphony Orchestra Play-Along -- January 11, 2010, 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Hoogland Center for the Arts. This is a great opportunity for our members to invite someone new to join us! Bring your friends that play orchestral instruments to "try us out" for one rehearsal. Anyone interested in joining can call the SVYS office to get more information: 217-753-8000.

Sangamon Valley (Adult) Community Orchestra - Wiinter Concert -- January 13, 2010 - 7:30 pm, Hoogland Center for the Arts. Admission free, donations accepted at the door.

Junior Strings: -- There will be two classes of Junior Strings this year. The rehearsals will begin Wednesday, September 16. Class 1 will rehearse from 4:30 to 5:15 pm, and Class 2 from 5:30 to 6:15 pm at Hoogland Center for the Arts. See the SVYS calendar for the full year's schedule.

The Spring Concert will feature all SVYS orchestras with Junior Strings and the Starter Strings. The concerto competition winners will be featured soloists with the Symphony Orchestra.

February 11, 2009 - SVYS Symphony Orchestra and Community Orchestra perform with the Illinois Symphony Orchestra. 7:00 pm (Rehearsal at 4:30 pm) - Prairie Capitol Convention Center.
