The American Suzuki Institute offers one and two-week sessions, usually at the end of July and beginning of August, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Young students live with their families in the University of Wisconsin dormitories. There is a teen dorm for older students. The program provides daily individual instruction, group classes, technique classes, orchestra classes, faculty and guest concerts, individual student recital opportunities, a chamber music program, social activities, and much more.

This camp is a rewarding family experience and an opportunity to meet students and teachers from across the US. The faculty members are highly trained and experienced. The camp celebrated its 40th year in 2010.

Students are accepted who do not study with a home teacher who employs the Suzuki method, but at camp it is assumed that the students will be prepared to play the Suzuki repertoire, as it is the basis for daily instruction. Students are assigned classes which are appropriate for their current level in the Suzuki books. Students are accepted who have advanced beyond the Suzuki repertoire.

Enrollment is open to violin, viola, cello, bass, piano, harp and guitar students of all levels. Violin students with no experience may enroll to begin their study at the Institute.

The Chicago Suzuki Institute is a concentrated week of master classes, group instruction, short-term teacher training courses, concerts, and musical enrichment for Suzuki violin, viola, cello, and piano students, parents, and teachers.  CSI provides an opportunity fo children and their parents to study music in the safe and compact setting of Trinity University in north-suburban Deerfield, Illinois.

While studying the Suzuki repertoire students experience dramatic musical growth through the stimulating teaching of our excellent faculty, the motivating presence of their peers and the nuturing support of their parents. Students receive a combination of classes providing individual attention and group participation as well as many exciting evening programs featuring our faculty, advanced program participants and guest artists. The inspiration of the week invigorates the musical studies of the children throughout the year.
