Parent Volunteers

The Sangamon Valley Youth Symphony succeeds only because of the volunteer support of all members and parents. Each member family is expected to provide volunteer support. Please complete the Family Volunteer Form at the Family Orientation Meeting on the night of the first rehearsal of the season.

Some of the opportunities for volunteer service are:

• The Fund Raising Committee is responsible for soliciting concert program advertisements and developing new means for raising community support.

• The Education Committee provides transportation and assists with the Concert Orchestra Tour and other educational programs.

• The Volunteer Coordination Committee organizes volunteers for concerts and schedules rehearsal monitors, concert coordinators, and tour chaperones.

• The Concert Production Committee arranges for equipment transportation to concert facilities. The committee sets up and strikes the stage for each concert.

• The Social Committee manages concert receptions and social events.
