Julstrom String Quartet
to Conduct String Sectional at SVYS Rehearsal September 20

The Julstrom String Quartet will coach the string section of the SVYS Symphony Orchestra at its rehearsal Monay, Sepetmber 20, 2004, 7:00 pm. The rehearsal will be held at the usual location in the Hoogland Center for the Arts.

Earlier the same day the Quartet will perform educational concerts for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students at the Pleasant Plains Elementary and Middle Schools.

The Julstrom String Quartet was founded in 2000 by the string faculty at Western Illinois University. The quartet was named in honor of Clifford Julstrom, string teacher and former chair of the Music Department. This young, diverse, and energetic group promises to be a strong force in the chamber music world. Its members bring a varied outlook to the ensemble and have vast experience performing the chamber music literature. The quartet has embarked on a project of recording chamber music of Rebecca Clarke that will be released in the near future. The Julstrom String Quartet performs literature from all periods of music -- classical to contemporary.
