The Ahn Trio...

Once upAhn a time in Korea were born a pair of twins, Maria and Lucia Ahn, followed two years later by their sister Angella. All three played the piano as soon as they could reach the keys, but when Lucia got really serious about the piano at age seven, Angella moved to the violin and Maria to the cello. The three Seoul sisters became the Ahn Trio, making their first public ensemble appearance on Korean television in 1979.

"Their unanimity when negotiating the smallest nuances of tempo variation is only one among the testimonies to the high level of ensemble-playing possessed by the three sisters. They acknowledged the long applause with a piece by Astor Piazzolla..."
-Wiesbanener Kurier

"The string players produce a gorgeous tone, Lucia has a solid grasp of the piano and together they coax a collective, dynamically flexible sound that gets us thinking about the bonding power of family."
-Los Angeles Times

"Their rhapsodic playing communicates great joy and enthusiasm."
-Chamber Music America
