Submission Guidelines

Sangamon Valley Youth Symphony program advertisements are printed in black and white (including gray scale and photographs). These guidelines will help us create the highest quality reproduction:

Electronic Art

We prefer submissions of electronic art in the following computer file formats.

Adobe Illustrator
Adobe PDF
Adobe Photoshop
EPS
Bitmap: TIFF, BMP, PICT, TGA, JPEG (Bitmap images should be at least 300 dpi)

We may be able to work with other file formats as well. Please contact us for more information.

Electronic files can be sent via e-mail attachment to: OrchestraManager@insightbb.com, or supplied on floppy disk, CD-ROM, Iomega Zip Disk, or DVD disk.

Camera-Ready Art

Please send the camera-ready original for best reproduction. Ads should be clean black & white copy in the desired size (or larger) printed at a resolution of at least 300 dpi. See "Ad Sizes" below.

If the ad contains screened halftones, the copy should be printed at a resolution of at least 600 dpi. High-quality ink jet or laser printouts are acceptable although the reproduction quality of halftone images cannot be assured. Ads clipped from previously-printed material, Xerox copies, or faxes will generally not produce satisfactory results.

Reproduction size for SVYS Concert Program ads

	Full Page	4.5" wide x 7.5" high
	Half Page	4.5" wide x 3.625" high
	Quarter Page Horizontal	4.5" wide x 1.75" high
	Quarter Page Vertical	2.125" wide x 3.625" high

Please be sure your submission fits the shape you have chosen. Hard copy artwork can be larger than the final ad, so long as it is printed in the proper shape. We can scan originals up to 8 1/2 x 11 inches.

If you do not have an ad prepared, we can create one for you. It is helpful if you provide a logo or photograph and a sketch or description of how you would like the ad to appear. We can make ads from business cards. If possible, send us your business logo separately as a high-quality graphic or computer file.
